Flexibility is the Key for Home Theatre Seating Design
We have had the pleasure to supply Home Theatre Seating for many happy customers and the main feature they desire is the flexibility to fill their space. It would be fantastic to have a specific room size to fit a specific home theatre seating design, but, unfortunately this rarely happens.
Buy Home Theatre Recliners to Fit Your Space
At Devlin Lounges we have the very fortunate opportunity to provide the customer with the flexibility to make home theatre seating out of any of our recliner suites. Thats right. You choose the design and you can make the seating to fit your space. Our most popular models such as the HT Nova, HT Urban and HT Alba are shown on the website but do not be limited by these. If you find another model appeals more to the eye, or if you come into the showroom and sit on a model and really like the feel of it, you can order it as a home theatre set.
The significant selling point about our range is that if you are looking for home theatre ideas, and are really struggling with getting the right seating to fit your space or comfort, speak to us and there is a good chance we will be able to help you.
If you have a certain space, most people want to fill it so they and their friends can enjoy the ‘Home Theatre Experience’.
How to Set Up Your Home Theatre Seating
Ok, so what do you need to look at when setting up your home theatre seating?
Firstly measure your space
Measure your distance from the screen
Decide how many seats you would like in total
Do you want ‘Love Seats’? (two seats together without a console between them)
Do you want Electric Recliners?
Would individual recliners work better for flexibility?
Maybe use leather beanbags to add some extra seating and flexibility
Measure Your Space
So what do you measure? Measure the distance from left to right of where you want the seats to fit. If you are purchasing from us you have the flexibility to put the chairs to within a couple of centimetres of the wall. We can put the recliner controls on the inside of the arm and you can maximise your space. If buying elsewhere make sure you leave about 15 cm either end so you can put your hand down the side and activate the recliner.
If you have two rows you will want space to get by the first row if the entrance is towards the front. Most of our customer would say 50 – 60cm is enough room. Another option is to order individual HT Recliners and walk through the middle.
The other measurement to take into account is the reclining length of the seat. Our recliners only need about 10-12 cms of distance from the rear wall. This also maximises your space.
If you have two rows make sure you leave enough space for the back row to recline and not have their feet hit the row in front. Most recliners will fully recline to about 160 – 180 cm. Generally you will find the back row seldom fully reclines as they are further from the screen.
Measure your distance from the screen so you can see how many rows you can put in and still give a good viewing experience.
Select How Many Seats You Would Like In Total
Of course, you are dictated to by the width and depth of the room as to how many seats you can comfortably put in the room. Remember, there are many options out there for seating. As mentioned at Devlin Lounges we can do all our recliner suites in Home Theatre to maximise your available seating. Don’t forget bean bags as an option for guests.
Most of our customers are more interested in making sure they can give all their family a comfy seat and have another option if guests come over.
Love Seats Are an Option
If you are stuck for space or just want to get close to that special someone, a love seat is an option. You can order the home theatre seating without a console and have two seats together. In a 4 seat arrangement you may be able to have R + R + Console + R + R, reducing the overall width by 60 cms. This may be enough to get the four seats you really want. Many other configurations are available with Devlin Lounges as the Home Theatre chairs are fully modular.
Electric Recliners For That Full Gold Class Experience
If you are going to invest in a dedicated Home Cinema experience electric recliners are very popular. The Electric recliners offer the user the opportunity to stop the recliner at different positions rather than the two positions generally offered with Manual recliners.
In our experience, warranties are normally about 1 – 2 years and the main issue is wear and tear on the activating buttons. People can be a bit harsh and damage these if they are pressed too hard. That said, it is really easy to change the buttons on most electric recliners. There are two screws in the handle. Your just remove these. Feed the unit back through the arm of the lounge and unplug it from the motor. To fit a new one, just do the same process in reverse.
In our electric recliners, if there is a problem with a motor, this is also an easy fix – just two bolts either end of the motor, undo them, remove the motor and replace.
The main objection to electric recliners would be the longevity of the motors, but we rarely have trouble with them. Different retailers may have more issues but obviously we are not privy to that information. If you are buying an electric recliner mechanism, make sure you ask the salesperson about warranty terms. Also ask about the ease of getting replacement parts and how difficult it is to replace.
Flexible Options for Seating
This one is just an option to consider, but sometimes customers want more flexibility. They could want this in case they move house, or would prefer to have there own seat. For this reason they may look at ordering individual recliners. As mentioned previously beanbags are a great option for this purpose. At Devlin Lounges we can offer beanbags in the same colour as your new Home Theatre recliners, or even get them made in multiple colours.
