Okay, so you have decided to look into getting a patterned fabric recliner. What to do? Well, be careful with the pattern you choose. Some recliners are well padded and a bit “boofy”. This means that there are not any clear straight lines, so the use of a stripe may be a challenge for the upholsterer, and it may not look too good either. A smaller pattern that does not require as much pattern matching could be the way to go. What is “pattern matching” i hear you say? This is where the upholsterer will try to match up the pattern between panels when sewing. On a square, simple design, it is not so hard, but on a busy design the upholsterer will soon be pulling their hair out in frustration as they try in vain to match the pattern. Be kind. If you have a recliner with many panels, or is a bit “boofy”, maybe try a design that does not really matter if it is matched or not.
Patterned fabric recliners can be made in florals as well. Many floral patterns are available if that is your preference. They can add terrific life and light to any room. or in a traditional setting really set a mood. Always be a bit careful when selecting fabrics as fabrics with a loose weave may have to be overlocked and may not be the easiest to work with. This can also add extra cost due to the extra work involved. Again, with florals be a bit careful and understanding re pattern matching as this can be a bit difficult to achieve a perfect result
